SQL Server Storage: Struggle to Survive... or Prepare to Thrive!

Although storage technology has seen remarkable advances in the last few years, SQL Server performance and scalability is still very vulnerable to storage performance. In this session, see how DiskSpd & perfmon can help your system thrive! Dive deep into the VMware LSI and PVSCSI vHBAs, and learn how some crucial concepts apply to any storage. This session will include demonstrations of profiling a system with perfmon, and stress-testing a pre-production system with DiskSpd.

Lonny Niederstadt, Systems Engineer Epic

About Lonny:
Lonny lives near Madison, Wisconsin. However, he is most easily found as @sqL_handLe on Twitter. Since the year 2000 he has worked at Epic, a Wisconsin electronic health record software company. His storage performance & scalability tests, design work, and field investigations have helped shape database storage configurations for patient records at sites throughout the United States. He's worked with Epic team members to validate storage performance capacity and encourage requirement-based storage design for SQL Server storage with the DiskSpd tool since that tool’s release.
