SQL Server Encryption Overview

It seems like not a day goes by when we don’t hear about another data breach. Fortunately, there are many different tools to help protect your data at the different levels of your IT infrastructure, including the tools you have at your disposal within SQL Server. We will review the SQL Server Encryption Hierarchy and discuss how it can be used to protect your data, including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and the steps required to recover an encrypted database to a different server. We’ll finish up with a review of new encryption features available in SQL Server 2016, like Always Encrypted.
